Multi-talented sportswoman heading for Commonwealth Games. 24 August 2010

Definitive has confirmed its latest signing, international womens’ rugby player, Non Evans, as the Women’s Rugby World Cup gets into full swing, with record broadcast media coverage.

Her recent selection for the Welsh team in the Rugby World Cup also coincided with her official selection for her new sport of Wrestling at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.

She is ranked as the top points scorer in International Women’s rugby and has scored 64 international tries for Wales, equal to the record held by David Campese. After Wales’ tough opening encounter with Australia last Thursday, she is looking forward to taking on South Africa on Tuesday.

With such a busy training and competition schedule, Non has turned to Definitive, which is headed up by former athlete, Jamie Baulch, to look after her TV and commercial work.

“I have known Jamie (Baulch) for quite a few years and when I heard about Definitive, I thought it would be perfect to get the support of a respected agency. I am looking forward to working with the team and making the most of the opportunities that come my way!

“The Rugby World Cup is a huge opportunity for our sport both at home and internationally and will really put Women’s rugby on the map. My next target just around the corner is the Commonwealth Games in October, so I just hope to recover quickly enough to fine tune my preparations for Delhi.”

In an amazing sporting career, Non has already represented Wales at two sports at the same Commonwealth Games in 2002 (Judo and weightlifting), the first time a female athlete has achieved such a feat. She medalled in her first sport Judo in both 1994 and 1998.

Amongst her TV highlights, Non has worked as TV Presenter with S4C for several years and was the first female pundit to work with the ITV team for 2007 Men’s Rugby World Cup. She took part in Celebrity Mastermind in 2009 and is now working on a new Welsh Superstar series called Deg Jonathan.
