Definitive athletes support Cancer Research Shine event

First night-time charity marathon in Cardiff. 26 August 2010

Jamie Baulch and Dai Greene have been supporting Cancer Research first UK’s night-time walking marathon – Shine with recent photocalls in Cardiff.

Taking place on Saturday 25 September, Shine sets off from Cardiff International Arena and passes landmarks such as The Millennium Centre, Cardiff Castle and Cardiff Bay.

The event is open to all men and women aged over 16 who can choose to walk either a 26 or 13 mile route.

Dai said, “Shine isn’t about winning medals, but it is about taking part and making a difference and I’m pleased to give my support to such a great event in Wales. It’s good to know that everyone who enters can decide which type of cancer they wish to support, there are 12 different scientific research areas.

“Shine is a fantastic new event and I hope there will be record entries to help in the fight against Cancer. Instead of running a marathon, I am sure anyone can prepare to walk the half marathon or full marathon distance and it will be spectacular at night!”
