Dai Greene and Non Evans put their faith in team management. 23 September 2010

Following Team Wales’ statement that the assurances have been accepted following concerns raised over the last few days, Dai Greene and Non Evans are looking forward to competing at the forthcoming Commonwealth Games.

Dai Greene travels out with Team Wales to Doha on Friday 24 September and Non Evans travels to Delhi on Tuesday 28 September.

Dai Greene commented this afternoon;

“I am pleased to hear that Team Wales are confident in the assurances now provided. It has been a difficult few days, but I believe as an athlete I need to put my full trust in the Welsh Team Management.

“Ever since Melbourne 2006, I have really looked forward to representing Wales in Delhi and now I can fine tune my preparations and travel to Doha tomorrow.

“I have enjoyed a great season so far and there is nothing I want to achieve more right now than bringing home Commonwealth Gold for Wales.”

Non Evans added:

“I’m relieved to know that everything has been resolved and we are ready to go now. The Welsh team advance party have done a terrific job in Delhi and I believe they are actually staying in the athlete village now.

“I have enjoyed a brilliant week of training and preparation in Cardiff this week and now I can’t wait to get out there and compete at the Games.”

Non Evans and Dai Greene will join swimmers Tom Haffield and David Roberts, who are already preparing for the Games in Doha.
