Confirms it will be his last Commonwealth Games. 8 October 2010
David Roberts was proud to represent Wales at his third Commonwealth Games in Delhi, but couldn’t quite secure a medal to add to his collection. He was up against a higher category of less disabled swimmers, in the S8 final.
He finished fourth in a time of 1:02.88, behind Australian Blake Cochrane. The race was won by Benjamin Austin (Australia), an S8 category swimmer in 1:00.44, the top three were all in the higher category.
David said afterwards:
“It was a tough race but I really enjoyed it. It was good to test myself against more able swimmers in the S8 category. I’m not disappointed, but I would have liked to have gone a bit quicker.
“It was a great honour to represent Wales in my last ever Commonwealth Games. It is a good one to go out on and this is a Games I will never forget.”
