After a stunning year of success for our Definitive clients, two athletes have made the shortlist for two prestigious BBC Sport Awards.

Dan Lucker, joint winner of 2009 BBC Wales Young Sports Personality of the Year is amongst the list of ten contenders for BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year.

The shortlist was announced by CBBC Newsround on Friday 26 November. The accolade, which is awarded by the BBC in partnership with the Youth Sport Trust, will be handed to the winner at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year event in Birmingham on 19 December.

“I’m really shocked to be nominated for BBC Sports Personality of the Year, I can’t believe it as I didn’t realise I had been nominated by UKA.

“2010 has been a great year for me after a difficult start, the highlight was my four Golds at the World Juniors. I have been lucky to have the support of a great team around me and can’t wait for 2011 now!”

Dai Greene has been named in the shortlist of six for BBC Wales Sports Personality of the Year, hoping to emulate the honour awarded to his hero Ryan Giggs last year.

The top six were announced on Monday 29 November, with voting starting immediately until 20:00 GMT on Saturday 4 December.

Dai is amongst four Commonwealth Games medallists named in the shortlist, alongside Gareth Bale and Nathan Cleverly.

The 2010 winner will be announced on Monday evening, 6 December on BBC Wales Radio, online and TV with sports stars attending the BBC Wales Sports Personality of Year Awards at Celtic Manor.
