BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2012. 27 November 2012

The 12-strong shortlist for the BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year award has been announced, and in contrast to last year’s all-male list there are five women who have been nominated.

Britain’s Olympic and Paralympic heroes dominate the list.

Definitive are delighted that David Weir is included within the Top 12.

The Winner will be selected by public vote and announced in an Awards Ceremony on the 16th December 2012, with some of the biggest names in World Sport expected to attend.

A public phone vote will decide the winner during the show on BBC One, which will be broadcast live on the 16th December 2012.
