Yet Another Gold Medal to Add to Jade’s Collection - Fujairah Open.  24 February 2014

20 year old Jade Jones who represented Team GB at the 2012 Summer Olympics won Gold at the recent Fujairah Open in Dubai.

The 2nd Fujairah Open began from February 20th to the 22nd, over 558 athletes gathered to compete.  The WTF Global Licence was a mandatory taekwondo passport for all athletes and officials to participate in this Tournament.

According to GB Taekwondo, following a hugely successful medal haul at the last Luxor Open in Egypt, the GB Team went back on the mats at the Fujairah Open in the UAE beginning Thursday 20th.  Fourteen athletes competed over the three days at the G1 Open.

And one of the best performances was done by Olympic Taekwondo Champion Jade Jones who claimed Gold in Dubai after beating Sweden’s Nikita Glasnovic in the final.

Jones tweeted after the competition: ‘Gold today ! Thanks for all your support !’

The Flint martial arts ace rose to prominence when she famously claimed the Gold medal at London 2012.
