World Champion Derek Redmond is looking forward to joining forces with former GB team mates Roger Black, Daley Thompson and Steve Backley on the live Sport Relief show on Friday night (19 March).

Derek now represented by Definitive will appear in ‘The Choir’ with 400m hurdler Dai Greene plus Jamie Baulch, who recently starred in Let’s Dance for Sport relief.

The group of Olympic athletes, past and present have been rehearsing under the tutorledge of Gareth Malone this week. Gareth is the choirmaster from the BAFTA award winning series The Choir.

Derek said:

“It has been great catching up with Roger (Black), Daley Thompson and Steve Backley and being part of something special for Sport relief. Our rehearsals have gone really well and all will be revealed on the night!

“I’m surprised how good we sound as a choir, considering none of us have ever sung before! It promises to be a great night!”

Derek has carved out a career in motivational speaking and now enjoys the adrenaline rush of motorbike racing in his spare time. He is entering his second season of Endurance Superbike Racing with Derek Redmond Racing, which consists of seven riders in the 1000cc, 3 hour championship, comprising seven rounds.

The Choir will star on the live Sport relief show in part 2 from 10pm on Friday 19 March (BBC 2).
